Physician Visit Goals & Statistics

There are several tools that have been developed over the past few years to provide information to our network physicians and their groups.  The MVMA Medical Director and Professional Liaisons conduct personal visits with physicians and their administrators/practice managers to review the specific information contained in the reports and use physician feedback to continuously improve each subsequent version. During these meetings, resources are provided in the areas of quality improvement initiatives, coding compliance, CDC guidelines, and certification requirements.

 The Resource Management Report

The Resource Management Report, or "RMR" allows us to provide physicians with feedback on various areas of their practice. The RMR is produced every six months.  This report not only provides feedback for the primary care physician, but also gives insight into how peers in the same specialty within the region and MVP-wide are practicing in those same areas.  The Resource Management Report is generated for physicians with a panel size of at least 150 MVP members.  We have the ability to group physicians by practice site, specialty, or vendor.

The areas covered in the RMR are as follows:
*    Inpatient Utilization
*    PCP visits
*    Specialist visits
*    Radiology
*    Office Visit Coding
*    Emergency Room Utilization
*    Pharmacy Utilization

The Physician Quality Report

The Physician Quality Report, or “PQR” is produced yearly for primary care physicians with a panel size of 150 or more.  The reports consist of objective data such as HEDIS measure results that are useful for practice management and trending.  The reports can be produced by individual physician, group site and vendor.  These reports have drilldown data available for all categories, which is useful for continuity of care and follow-up referrals to Disease Management Programs.  The data is gathered from both submitted claims data as well as medical record review  A new addition to the report is the Patient Centered Medical Home component based on NCQA standards that emphasize the use of systematic, coordinate care management processes.

Specialty Reports

Specialty-specific reports are now produced yearly for OBGYN, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics and Cardiology.   The reports contain information regarding quality, resource management and pharmacy utilization.

 The MVMA staff actively works to schedule personal visits at a mutually convenient time, as each version of the above reports is produced.  We are very interested in your thoughts and suggestions regarding ways we may improve our reporting, so that it is meaningful and useful to you.
